The Department of Justice announced an indictment on Sept. 30 against 18 individuals for the alleged sale of counterfeit drugs that often include fentanyl, through illegal online pharmacies that do not require a prescription and tout deeply discounted prices.
In a statement two days later, the CDC noted that fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine. “Individuals who ordered drugs from these
