Baxter, FDA Working to Minimize Drug Shortages From Puerto Rico Plants

Ever since hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, the FDA has been working closely with Baxter and other companies to prevent potential shortages of critically important drugs and to minimize the effects on any existing shortages, according to FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, MD.

In particular, Baxter and the FDA been working to prevent a significant shortfall of Baxter’s sodium chloride 0.9% injection bags from its Puerto Rico facility. 

Baxter’s island
