Although one in 12 controlled substance medication transactions at U.S. hospitals involve suspicious variations, only about half of such transactions are investigated, according to a new Diversion Trends Report released in early July by Kit Check.
The company’s Bluesight for Controlled Substances software, used in more than 230 hospitals, found that 8% of all controlled substance transactions in 2021 were flagged as a potential variance, but only 46% were fully reviewed and
