A new ambulatory pharmacy service at Yale New Haven Health that provides neoadjuvant anti-obesity medications to patients undergoing bariatric surgery has proven so successful as a pilot, with a pharmacist working two half-days per week, that the program is now bumping that pharmacist up to full time.
None of the 27 patients seen in the service during its first nine months discontinued weight-loss medications and 25% successfully underwent bariatric surgery with no complications,
