Racial Disparities Found in Flu Shot Recs for Pregnant Women

Health care providers are less likely to recommend influenza vaccination to pregnant women who are black or Asian than pregnant white women, according to a new study (Vaccine 2019;37[18]:2520-2526).

Pregnant black are 19% (95% CI, 0.75-0.86) less likely and Asian women are 34% (95% CI, 0.61-0.72) less likely to receive a recommendation for influenza vaccine from their providers compared with non-Hispanic white women in the year prior to giving birth, according to
