Smoke From the Canadian Wildfires May Worsen Cardiac Conditions

As wildfires spread across southern Canada, smoke from those fires is rapidly drifting into the United States, and that smoke could bring more people into the emergency department (ED), urgent care clinic or doctor’s office, according to the American Heart Association (AHA).

Wildfire smoke contains microscopic particles that can aggravate both the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, according to the AHA.
