The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recently included a new hepatitis B vaccine (HepB) in the recommended choices for vaccinating adults against hepatitis B virus (HBV).
There was no voting on the inclusion at the February meeting, explained Kevin Ault, MD, the chair of the ACIP Hepatitis Working Group, because the committee approved universal HepB vaccine recommendations for adults 19 through 59 years of age in 2021.
