People at High Risk for Complications Should Be Treated, Even If Later in Illness

Although most people with influenza should be treated within two days of developing symptoms, those at high risk for complications should be given antivirals, even if they have been sick for more than two days, according to recent guidelines from the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA).
