The influenza vaccine, so far, is performing well against influenza during the 2018-2019 season, according to an interim report by the CDC.
From Nov. 23, 2018, to Feb. 2, 2019, the vaccine effectiveness against all influenza virus infections associated with medically attended acute respiratory infection was 47%. Among children aged 6 months through 17 years, the effectiveness rate was 61% (MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep 2019;68[6]:135-139).
