FDA Approves Pill That Can Track Whether Patients Took the Med

The FDA approved the first drug in the United States that has a digital ingestion tracking system. 

Aripiprazole tablets with sensor (Abilify MyCite, Otsuka, Proteus) has an ingestible sensor embedded in the pill that records that the medication was taken by the patient. The drug-device combines oral aripiprazole tablets with the Ingestible Event Marker sensor.
