Narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) are central disorders of hypersomnolence, characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and/or excessive need for sleep.1
Historically, narcolepsy has been estimated to affect 0.025% to 0.05% of the population worldwide (approximately 25 to 50 per 100,000 persons).2,3 A recent study of US claims data estimated an even higher prevalence of
