ASHP Survey: 1 in 3 Hospital Pharms Now Managing Critical Drug Shortages

Ongoing and worsening drug shortages are a constant challenge for most hospital pharmacists, according to a new survey from ASHP.

The U.S. healthcare system is approaching a 10-year high for drug shortages with 309 drugs in shortage, just behind the all-time high of 320 in 2014, the report noted. Several survey respondents described the situation as the worst shortage of their careers.
