San Antonio—Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) continues to be a major problem in all areas of the hospital, including the ICU, where the infection affects up to 5% of patients and has a mortality rate of about 6%, according to data presented at the 2018 annual Critical Care Congress.
Fortunately, new updated guidelines by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America offer some recommendations for managing these patients
