LAS VEGAS—As outpatient treatment options became available for COVID-19, some providers at Kettering Health, in Dayton, Ohio, became unsure of which medications would be best for their patients, and sometimes were stymied by low stock. Then, a group of pharmacists stepped in to create a dedicated service for coordinating these therapies.
The pharmacist-driven program, which has generated nearly 16,700 patient referrals, won an ASHP Best Practices Award bestowed at the 2022
