Quick Response to Tocilizumab Seen in Rheumatoid Arthritis
ISSUE: AUGUST, 2010 Tampa, Fla.—For patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), adding tocilizumab (Actemra, Hoffman-LaRoche) to existing disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD) therapy results in significant improvements in pain, disease activity and inflammation as early as one week after treatment begins, according to research presented at the 2010 Summer Meeting of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
